4 dead after van, Dallas Cowboys tour bus collide on Arizona highway

Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Quentin Mehr says all the fatalities in the Sunday crash were passengers in the van.

Four Cowboys staff members who were riding on the bus also suffered minor injuries. The bus is now being looked at by the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s commercial vehicle inspectors.

Multiple people are dead after a Dallas Cowboys tour bus and van collided Sunday on US 93, between Kingman, Arizona, and Nevada, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

No football players from the Dallas Cowboys were on the bus at the time of the collision.

Four team staff members – Cowboys writer Mickey Spagnola, team mascot Rowdy, videographer Jason Walraven and the bus driver – were on board, 12 News sister station WFAA reports.

Additional information on the crash was not immediately available.

He says people were already waiting when an organizer called and said the event would have to be canceled because of the crash.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said two vehicles crashed on the highway near Pierce Ferry Road, about 30 miles north of Kingman.

Cooper says the team mascot was supposed to appear.

After the Las Vegas stop, the bus was scheduled to go to Oxnard, California, for the team’s training camp. USA 93 is the main route between Phoenix and Las Vegas.
