4 dead in small plane crash near Lake Clear

New York state authorities, LAKE OBVIOUS say four individuals were slaughtered whenever a tiny plane crashed within the Adirondack Mountains. Experts were advised of the downed civilian airplane at about 6:30 p.m. Friday.

He says the plane was registered to someone in the Rochester area.

In March 2013, another small plane went down while approaching the Lake Placid Municipal Airport, but all three men aboard escaped with only minor cuts and bruises.

He didn’t know whether the plane was taking off or landing when it went down.

Four people were found dead in the wreckage, police said. It will take about six months for the investigators to release a final report.

Local fire departments responded to extinguish the flames.

He added, “So far I haven’t seen anything out of the ordinary [that might have caused the crash]”.

Investigators will meet Sunday with the plane’s manufacturer and engine manufacturer.

State police are asking anyone who might have witnessed the crash to call 518-897-2000.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation reported seeing smoke and found the crash site.

National Transportation Safety Board senior investigator Robert Gretz tells reporters the plane crashed shortly after takeoff, but it’s not yet known what went wrong.

The Adirondack Regional Airport is about an hour from Plattsburgh and offers daily commercial flights to Boston.
