4-Star SG Brandon Robinson Commits to North Carolina

Brandon Robinson, 6-5, 190 lbs wing guard from Douglas County HS in Georgia has become UNC’s second commitment of the 2016 class joining big man Tony Bradley. Robinson is considered a fringe top-50 prospect in his class, according to various outlets that cover recruiting.

North Carolina picked up a scoring guard who was very good during the July live evaluation period as four-star shooting guard Brandon Robinson pledged to the Tar Heels on Monday.

After an extended drought of elite commitments and facing the possibility of the NCAA uncertainty keeping recruits from pulling the trigger, Roy Williams and Co. have now snagged two 2016 commits this month.

Before Bradley’s commitment, Williams and his staff had been turned down, repeatedly, by class of 2016 prospects.

North Carolina, a program expected to challenge for a national title this upcoming season, is in need of a few big commitments for its future.

Robinson is from Douglasville, Georgia so Georgia also is on the list of schools he’s considering along with Florida State, Georgia Tech and Louisville among others. Most importantly, Robinson isn’t a 2-guard through and through; he’s capable of playing the wing and as a lead guard, if need be.

As for his game, Robinson is a prototypical shooting guard in that he is a very good scorer and he can shoot the ball from both mid-range and long range.
