49ers’ Kaepernick wears socks with cartoon cops as pigs

The news comes as the San Diego Chargers, based in a city with a massive military population, said it is planning to hold a presentation in honor of the USA, the national anthem and the US army ahead of the match against the 49ers.

Colin Kaepernick was protesting social issues before last week when he did not stand for the national anthem at the San Francisco 49ers’ third preseason game.

This comes after Kaepernick did not stand during the National Anthem at Friday night’s preseason game.

If you’re an American and you’ve heard about Colin Kaepernick’s protest, you very probably have one of three opinions on the matter: You strongly support him, you’re strongly against him or you just don’t care and wish this story would be over.

The use of force by police against African-Americans in cities such as Ferguson, Missouri, Baltimore and NY has sparked periodic and sometimes destructive protests in the past two years and prompted the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement. “Now, I think people are really talking about it”. Those socks feature police officers dressed as pigs and were worn by QB back on August 10 during practice.

That revelation will likely not please the San Francisco Police Officers Association, which sent a letter to the NFL on Monday denouncing Kaepernick’s decision to sit for the national anthem.

According to the Associated Press, Kaepernick drew scattered boos from the crowd at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium during the anthem, but was booed heavily when he took the field for the first time during the first quarter.

Lane expressed that same sentiment to reporters, saying he wanted to show support for Kaepernick and that he didn’t tell anyone on the Seahawks before the game that he would sit out the anthem. He said that he had “two uncles and friends who are police officers and work to protect and serve ALL people”.
