49ers QB Colin Kaepernick resumes throwing during practice
More appropriately to how he played: his opportunity was errantly thrown and could not be completed. That touchdown accounted for 43 of his 63 yards, and the receiver, tight end Vance McDonald, did most of the work after the catch. On Wednesday, he threw only on the sideline before practice and not during drills. On Wednesday, when the 49ers went to Colorado for joint practices with the Broncos, Kaepernick was back in uniform on the field for the second straight day. Gabbert is what he is, a low-level quarterback.

Kaepernick hasn’t thrown in team drills since last Wednesday, the result of what he initially called a tight shoulder but the team has since classified as a exhausted arm.
The 63-year-old Arians, a two-time National Football League coach of the year, is in his fourth season in Arizona. It’s a far cry from Jim Harbaugh’s 49ers. Three months after the Broncos flirted with the idea of trading to make Kaepernick their next quarterback, his arrival prompted some what-ifs. To shoot the moon and go for it all.
Colin Kaepernick appears closer to being healthy enough to practice. “We’ll see about that”, responded a Broncos fan.
The team announced the move after ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported that the Niners inked the former Minnesota Vikings first-round draft pick to a one-year contract. It’s not like we’re telling him what to do.
“Hindsight is always 20-20”, Baalke said, according to CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco.
If Colin Kaepernick’s dead arm is complicated to him, it may clarify things for the 49ers. Despite the reports, we currently project Kaepernick to win the starting job, at least for now.
The San Francisco 49ers are pretty realistic. The signing of Ponder though, certainly does look like a team scraping the bottom of the barrel. We don’t know, at this point. “It’s usually when they start talking too much”. The 49ers need to overcome some serious deficiencies.
With the game looming Saturday and Kaepernick still not throwing, that seems an impossibility.
The San Francisco 49ers were hoping that Thad Lewis would be their third quarterback.

Kelly said he has been told Kaepernick probably will be ready for the Denver practices – which start today – but it is not clear if the 49ers expected Kaepernick to miss two practices last week or the game Sunday. Even if he can’t play himself into the job yet, there’s still a chance Gabbert could play himself out of it. Chip Kelly intends to lean on the running game while he figures out how to make the passing game an asset. “I think if nothing happened all year, it would be time to hang it up, but I was going to give myself this last season and see what happens”. Management knew that he was a project that needed some seasoning.
