Colin Kaepernick will finally get a chance to play in a game situation, but not until the third week of preseason.

“We got a lot of great work in, a lot of long practices, a lot of good work for our offense against a great defense”, Gabbert said.
In a big way, Kaepernick is still the unknown, while Blaine Gabbert became a little too known in his preseason debut last week against the J.J. Watt-less Texans.
So sore arm or not, game action or not, Kaepernick is still in the mix. “You take care of each other during this time to get into the season as healthy and prepared as we can be”.
He wasn’t’ interesting in rehashing why the 49ers were careless with Kaepernick’s health, and continued to downplay the severity of the injury.

As has been the case over the last week, he did not attempt any throws during formal drills.
