4th of July Celebrations
Here are some worthy ones outside of Boston.

For the first time in years, Ocracoke will participate in the festivities with a two-day celebration. Rain date is Tuesday for fireworks only.
At 10 a.m. July 4, watch the raising of the ceremonial flag. Pre-firework fun begins at 5 p.m. with fireworks at 9:20 p.m. The park is closed during the day, but will open at 4 p.m. for the annual celebration. There will be footraces at 3 p.m.in Savikko Park and the Douglas Community United Methodist Church will have its annual deep pit beef BBQ from 11 a.m.to 5 p.m.

Chambersburg: Borough officials postponed its Independence day celebrations to July 9, fireworks included. Food will be available at 7 p.m. Food and refreshments include: root beer floats, canned sodas, funnel cakes, popcorn, burgers, bratwurst and hot dogs. Shortly after 9 p.m. there will be some announcements & presentations. Admission to the event is free. The event is open to the public, $10 per auto. Food trucks also will be on-site.
Midwest City: The city’s annual celebration, “Tribute to Liberty”, will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Joe B. Barnes Regional Park, 8700 E Reno Ave. The Declaration of Independence will be read on the steps of the Old Point School House and the celebration will continue at Poquatuck Park, with music, games and food. 9 in Freehold. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks at dusk.
The Patriotic Parade starts at 5:30 p.m. Sunday and a fireworks show from “Red Top” can be seen from Main Street at 10 p.m.
SCHNEIDER – The town will have its traditional pancake breakfast 7 a.m.to 10:30 a.m.at the Community Building, 24002 Parrish Ave. The festivities wraps with the National Repertory Orchestra performing a patriotic concert at the Riverwalk Center followed by fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
On Monday, July 4, several activities take place throughout the county.
7 p.m.: A family street dance will take place on Spink Street with live music by The Jack Daniels Band.
The parade begins at 2 p.m.
We know it, of course, as Independence Day.
The Ely City Band puts on a show from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday at Whiteside Park, following the parade. Giant firework display with City Hall as the back drop will wrap up the night. The 25th anniversary event runs from 10:30 a.m.to noon, with a welcoming ceremony and is immediately followed by the turtle release.
Pontoon boat tours will begin the festivities at 11 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 2.

PUEBLO WEST-The “A Hometown Fourth” events start with a 5k, the infamous Wet ‘n Wild Parade at 10 a.m., and ends with the “the best fireworks display around” at dusk. The all-day festival with inflatables, live entertainment, and much more – plus all the wet-and-wild fun of the water park nearby – has packed people into the facility in the past, and looks to draw a strong turnout again this year. Curbside parking is available.
St. Peter is celebrating the 4 of July with a parade at 10 a.m. followed with a concert performed by The Divers form 1-4pm. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
