5 games that will decide the AFC South

Mariota surprised the Jaguars by keeping on a run around left end from 23 yards out for the touchdown, giving the Titans a 13-9 lead with 5:22 left in the third quarter.

With 3:49 to play and the Jaguars down, 13-9, Greene took his second punt return of the game 63 yards to the Tennessee 5-yard line. Defensive end Andre Branch sacked Marcus Mariota on the game’s final play to ensure the victory.

“I flushed him (Mariota) out and he stepped up still looking and he had to throw the ball and he was right there and I just made the sack (tackling him from behind)”, said Branch, who played a season-high 56 snaps.

Myers then hit on a 31-yard field goal.

The success that Bortles has enjoyed offensively this season has come from his connections with his wide receivers, most notably Allen Robinson who has 45 catches for 758 yards and seven touchdowns this season.

So, the Jaguars’ head coach wouldn’t say Friday that the team has “figured out” how to win close games – not if “figured out” means it automatically will keep happening again and again.

Last week against the Ravens, running back T.J. Yeldon and fade routes didn’t get it done.

Jacksonville Jaguars’ Rashad Greene runs back a punt return past Tennessee Titans cornerback Cody Riggs (37), Steven Johnson (52) and Marqueston Huff (28) during the second half of an NFL football game in Jacksonville, Fla., Thursday, November 19, 2015. They committed five combined pass interference and defensive holding penalties, gifting the Titans first downs. Indianapolis plays at Atlanta (6-3) and Houston hosts the NY Jets (5-4).

Matter fact, if the world was fair they would of relegated the entire AFC south to the SEC East at this point past year.

The Titans are still alive in the division trailing by only two games with three still to play against the Colts, Texans and Jaguars.

-RUN DEFENSE: B-minus. Rookie Antonio Andrews had 78 yards on 15 carries, but 26 came on his longest run. Jacksonville might have won four games a lot earlier than usual, but when it takes both teams nearly three quarters to score a touchdown, it’s not surprising to find even the most creative minds on the internet with something of writer’s block when trying to come up with something that isn’t about making fun of the uniform. With all of the options the Jaguars have on offense, why does it seem so vanilla in the red zone? Since then, they’ve gone over 100 yards collectively only twice, the other being their overtime win over the Saints two weeks ago. In their last three games alone, the Saints have surrendered a total of 130 points. The return was Jacksonville’s longest punt return in five years.

The injuries to Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter put the Titans in that spot.

Jacksonville plays three of its next four at home and has the easiest remaining schedule of any team in the league.

“I took a page out of Sen’s book and I played that specific call on that play exactly how Sen did previous year and it was really successful for him”, said Odrick, regarding his sack on Thursday night. “Before the last couple of games, we were just coming up short”.

“The guy punched it out and I failed to do a good job in protecting the ball”. The Pack also might get running back Eddie Lacy back after he sat out last week’s loss with a groin injury. Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said Lacy “looked good” in practice this week.
