They later said they saw “no indication” Rahami is part of a terror cell after he was apprehended following a shootout on Monday; de Blasio emphasized that law enforcement officials are not looking for any other suspects at this time.

“That’s the world we’re living in now”, New York City Police Commissioner James O’Neill said during a press conference Monday.
The FBI’s Newark office tweeted that its bomb technicians had responded to the scene, along with investigators from Union County and the State Police of New Jersey.
Rahami is a USA citizen originally born in Afghanistan, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.
Elizabeth Mayor Christian Bollwage said the Federal Bureau of Investigation was working to disarm one of five devices found in the same bag in a trash can by two men at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday near the Elizabeth train station.
The pipe bomb that exploded Saturday in Seaside Park went off before a charity 5K race to benefit Marines and sailors.
The explosion occurred while a bomb squad was attempting to detonate a suspected device at the station. No one was injured there.
Mayor Bill de Blasio called the bombing an “intentional” act but declined to call it terrorism before police had any tangible notion of motive.
WABC-TV video footage showed a man believed to be 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher in Linden, N.J.
“A bomb exploding in NY is obviously an act of terrorism”, Governor Andrew Cuomo told a news conference.
A second bomb was found several blocks away on West 27th Street.
Law enforcement officials told NPR that the bombs found in New Jersey on Sunday night were similar to the one found late Saturday in Chelsea.
New Jersey Transit service trains resumed service on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line at 5:30 a.m. Monday, but they faced residual delays because service was suspended after the devices were found.
Also on Saturday, a man who authorities say referred to Allah wounded nine people in a stabbing rampage at a Minnesota mall before being shot to death by an off-duty police officer.
No-one has been charged with any crime and the investigation is continuing, Ms Langmesser said.
It’s unknown if the incidents in New Jersey are linked to the bombing in Chelsea. It is unknown what connection, if any, they have to the bombings.
However, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has described detonating a bomb in New York City as “obviously an act of terrorism”.
On Sunday night, FBI and NYPD investigators stopped a vehicle of interest being sought in the bombing investigation, an FBI spokeswoman said.
The New York Daily News reported that weapons were found in the auto. He also said Rahami was not on the FBI’s radar except for an earlier domestic incident where the allegations were later recanted.
No injuries were reported after the blast in Seaside Park, Ocean County but it was the first of a series of incidents that has put the U.S. on edge.
Homemade pressure cooker bombs were used in the Boston Marathon attacks in 2013 that killed three people and injured more than 260.

The intense investigation into the weekend bomb blasts in NY and New Jersey is leading authorities to signs of a possible terror cell in those two states, law enforcement officials said Monday.
