5-star 2016 wing Miles Bridges chooses Michigan St

“I can’t wait to get started”, Bridges said Saturday about playing at MSU.
Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo has worked his magic again and this may be his best trick of all.
“The 6’6”, 218 lb Bridges ended his recruitment today, as he announced his college plans at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan. The pair took their official visits to Michigan State together, on the weekend of September 12.
Bridges’ choice came down to Michigan State vs. Kentucky.
Bridges told Scout.com that his decision was heavily influenced by the commitment of four-star point guard Cassius Winston, another Michigan native and his AAU teammate. “I wanted to play with Cassius”.
In a press conference at his school, Bridges told reporters that he new he was going to commit to the Spartans “about a week ago” but thanked all the coaches for their time during the process.
Bridges, who will play out his senior year of high school at West Virginia’s Huntington Prep, should be an immediate impact player for MSU a year from now.
Prior to Bridges’ commitment, the Spartans had the No. 2-ranked 2016 class in the country, No. 1 in the Big Ten, per 247Sports-which will likely return them to the top of list now that Bridges is on board. He shone at the circuit’s marquee event, the Peach Jam, averaging over 23 points and 10 rebounds, and drew attention this spring and summer for a series of violent dunks.
All four players are in the top 40 of the ESPN 100.
At 6’6, ” 225 pounds, Bridges is renowned for his physicality, rebounding and ability to score in transition.

Bridges joins Winston, Lincoln (Gahanna, Ohio) center Nick Ward and Madison Academy (Madison, Ala.) shooting guard Josh Langford to form the Spartans 2016 recruiting class thus far.
