5 things to watch in tonight’s GOP debate
It’s expected to be another fiery, wild night as the Republican presidential candidates get together in Boulder, Colorado, Wednesday for their third debate.

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, former New York Gov. George Pataki and South Carolina Sen.
“I’m glad people liked her debate performance and liked her message, but one debate does not win the thing”, deputy campaign manager Sarah Isgur Flores said.
Planning for the event began back in the spring when CNBC approached the university about possibly hosting the event.
CNBC has said Wednesday night’s debate will focus on economic policy, which could play to a few of the candidates’ strengths while possibly revealing vulnerabilities in other contenders. Known for his reserved and calm demeanor, the candidate has repeatedly said he has no interest in becoming an attack dog.
“There are many moderate Republicans in the party, bless their heart, but I’m guessing when the Larimer County delegates go to the state convention they’ll pick national convention delegates who are more conservative”, he said. None has gone after Carson more aggressively than billionaire businessman Donald Trump, who has questioned Carson’s energy, policies and religion.
To justify missing the World Series game, here’s what CNBC needs to push the Republican candidates to address – in concrete terms – when the 10 candidates line up on Wednesday evening.
How to watch: The debate will air live on CNBC, which is channel 46 for most providers.
“You’d have to be a fool to not expect fireworks”, Quintanilla said.
A record 20 million-plus watched each of the first two Republican debates. “Maybe that’s why they came here – to see how it would fly in the toughest crowd they could find to audition their ideas”. “One grouping will include candidates with an average of three percent (or more) in a specified group of national polls”.
On the hot seat is former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, battling perceptions that he’s stuck in the middle of the pack, perhaps permanently, in the wake of a decision to slash campaign staff and infrastructure following disappointing third quarter fundraising numbers for a candidate who whose presidential bid was built on its supposed financial prowess. Carson has struggled to explain how his healthcare plan, which centers on health savings accounts, could be paid for without harming the huge government program for retirees that is extremely popular among most Republican voters. Rather than take the podium immediately next to Trump, Bush will be two spots removed from the GOP front-runner for the first time. He’s been very vocal about what he sees as a “mistake” by those organizing the debates, since they use national polling and not early state polls (mainly Iowa and New Hampshire) to determine who is slotted when. So was Rand Paul’s. The former Florida governor is the son and brother of presidents.
