5th Oklahoma natural disaster in a day rattles south central Kansas

The latest, a 4.1 magnitude, was recorded around 8:20 p.m.

Several residents in South Central Kansas reported feeling a 4.5 magnitude quake which occured in Crescent, Oklahoma around 1:12 Monday afternoon.

During the past seven days, Oklahoma recorded 36 earthquakes.

According to the USGS a 4.0 magnitude quake also occured in the same area around 12:49 p.m.

So far there are no reports of major damage.

The Oklahoma Geological Survey issued a report in April saying it’s “very likely” most of the state’s recent earthquakes were triggered by the injection of wastewater from oil and gas drilling operations.
