600 detained in BJP-CPM clash
BJP has been targeting the Left over the alleged attacks on its workers in Kerala in the run up to the polls.

“The people of Kerala gave a resounding verdict in favour of the LDF”, the statement said, alleging that “it is against this democratic verdict of people that BJP launched attacks in various places against the CPI(M) and LDF workers”.
Situation is not good. Mr Gadkari said that unfortunately the Congress “is keeping quiet…”
The CPI-M also took exception to Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad’s remarks on Saturday saying “instead of issuing threats, the CPI-M should ensure that the party units in Kerala stop such violent attacks”.
The police detained at least 150 protestors, one of the officers said.
“The BJP condemns the murders of our workers by the CPM and hopes that all parties, who believe in democracy oppose this”.
A BJP delegation today sought the intervention of President Pranab Mukherjee regarding “prevailing lawlessness” in Kerala.
Earlier, the BJP chief had refused to congratulate the Left leadership on their victory in the polls.
Holding that the protest was peaceful, Delhi BJP spokesman Praveen Kapoor said, “Police detained our leaders and workers but not the CPI(M) workers who resorted to violence”. CPI(M) needs to recognise one thing very clearly that BJP is ruling over the country and is ruling in 14 states…
The statement also criticised the BJP of taking a “dishonest and hypocritical” position on the ground realities in Kerala.
“This has happened across the state”. “BJP has lost the tolerance to accept the people’s verdict in Kerala”. They expressed fear that Kerala may witness a “large-scale organised crusade by the Left Front government” against the BJP workers and implored the President to initiate action to restrain any further attacks on the party workers.

“This procession was attacked by the BJP-RSS workers resulting in the death of CV Raveendran, a 53-year-old member of the CPI(M)”.
