Since then, West Haven has shut down day care facility and immediately revoked the day care license, FOX61 reported. They found the plants and alerted police to the discovery on Friday, officials said. State inspectors were originally called to the site due to the poor building conditions. No one is allowed inside the residence, which has since been condemned, authorities said.

The plants, which were six to 10 feet tall, were located in the backyard of 159 Norfolk Street. Police officers executed a warrant on the property and officers from the Police Department’s Street Crime Unit arrived and also saw the plants in a newly fenced area.

State records indicate that the day care license is registered to Rosalee Miller.

Police say arrests are forthcoming.
