7 northern Va. high schools deal with bomb threats
George Mason was among six area schools that received threats, including Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, which was also evacuated, said Kraig Troxell, spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Last week, Teaneck, Bergenfield, Waldwich, Mahawah and Hackensack high schools all received threats. The threats are not credible, says the school systems’ spokeswoman Mary Shaw.
Eleven schools in Passaic, Bergen and Essex counties received threats Friday morning, but authorities said that all the schools were deemed safe at about 1 p.m.
Several schools in Northern Virginia evacuated Friday afternoon because of bomb threats, which were later determined to be nonthreatening. “We are continuing with normal school operations for the remainder of the day”.
The unlikelihood of all those schools having a bomb made it more likely that the threat was a hoax, but officials couldn’t be sure, so they moved everyone out of the school as a precaution.
Parents have been asked not to pick up students at this time while police investigate.
