7 people charged with aiding Florida murder suspect escape
A murder suspect who escaped custody at the Broward County courthouse last week was captured in Palm Beach County Wednesday night, authorities said.

Back in custody on Thursday after almost a week on the lam, murder suspect and courthouse escapee Dayonte Resiles was unsurprisingly denied bond.
Israel says Resiles, who was alone, obeyed orders from a SWAT team to come out of a room.
He was not armed, did not resist arrest and no shots were fired.
There probably will be people eligible for the $50,000 reward that had been offered for information leading to his capture, Israel said.
Outside the courtroom at the northern exit where Resiles sprung, Laquay Stern, 18, provided a silver BMW getaway vehicle driven by Winston Russell, 22. “Nothing like that.” The additional restrictions were being imposed, the judge explained, because Resiles’ complex escape demonstrated him to be a resourceful individual with a helpful network of acquaintances. Su, 59, was bound at the hands and feet and stabbed multiple times in her Davie, Florida, home during what police say was a burglary attempt.
Resiles was arrested in the 2014 murder of Jill Halliburton Su, a relative of the Halliburton oil empire in Texas. Resiles has pleaded not guilty and his attorney is trying to get the death penalty off the table.
Authorities say 21-year-old Dayonte Resiles escaped Friday after slipping out of his handcuffs while awaiting a death penalty hearing.
A vehicle was waiting near the courthouse with a change of clothes.
Also charged are Resiles’ 18-year-old girlfriend, LaQuay Stern, who authorities say was waiting outside in the vehicle, and five others. One of them, 22-year-old Walter Hart III, is now in prison for a different second-degree murder charge.
July 19-The escape of a murder suspect from the Broward County Courthouse last week has already sparked changes in how maximum security inmates are handled for hearings. Detectives believe Jackson set up three-way calls between the three of them to help Resiles plan his escape.
Investigators said Friday’s escape was carefully planned. Resiles had called Jackson before the escape. Although one bailiff grabbed the collar of Resiles’ jumpsuit, he was able to wriggle out of it and flee down a stairwell.

Seven days after he slipped out of shackles and left the Broward County Courthouse through a back door, allegedly with the help of at least seven others, accused murderer Dayonte Resiles was marched back into the Fort Lauderdale jail not long before dawn this morning.
