An Urban Search and Rescue team and police officers use chainsaws to remove branches off a fallen tree that injured two children and an adult at a children’s museum in Pasadena on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.
Two people were in critical condition and another six were injured when a tree fell Tuesday evening near a children’s museum in Pasadena, authorities said.
Six other children suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene, as indicated by Lisa Derderian with the Pasadena Fire Department. “And at that point we got a headcount and ensured that we did have accountability for all children, and that’s really when the first responders – who did a fabulous job – arrived on scene”.

Michael Shanklin, CEO of the Kidspace Museum, told ABC7 the children were waiting to be picked up by their parents after attending a camp. The museum was due to close in 15 minutes when the tree suddenly fell. “I heard a tree crack, and then I turned around and I saw little kids running, then I saw the tree fall on top of the little kids, maybe about five or seven of them”. TV reports showed two young children being strapped to gurneys by paramedics but there’s no word on their conditions.
