8 injured in U.S. city shooting

Davis further said police had gathered enough evidence to prove the incident was in retaliation for a separate shooting on September 5, the country’s Labor Day, holiday.

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Saturday night (EST) at Greenmount Avenue and East Preston Street, near Greenmount Cemetary. Baltimore police revealed on Twitter that none of the injuries from the first or second shooting were believed to be life-threatening, but they never went into any additional details regarding any of the victims.

Baltimore Police say 8 people have shot and taken to local hospitals.

A day after eight people were shot at a single scene by three gunman in Baltimore, police were investigating two more non-fatal shootings on Sunday.

Davis says the victims could have recognized the gunmen but authorities haven’t immediately been able to identify the suspects and are still searching for them hours afterward. When the Taurus pulled across the center lane and drove toward him, the officer shot at the vehicle and struck the driver through the front windshield, police said. In addition, it was reported that a father and his 3-year-old daughter are among the wounded. But, Davis said the assailants “need not to just be in jail, but underneath a jail”.

At the scene, police had at least three blocks cordoned off and were keeping away bystanders and reporters. Authorities tweeted that one man had a shotgun and the other two had handguns. Nearby, detectives also were seen using flashlights as they searched tall, overgrown grass in an alley near the shooting site.
