The 8-month-old boy from Garfield Heights was left in the SUV for 10 hours.

Investigators say she found the unresponsive boy after being notified that he hadn’t returned from daycare.

A parent or guardian who was driving the SUV earlier was supposed to drop the baby off at day care along with the family’s three other children about 8 a.m. ET.

At approximately 11 a.m. the grandmother of the 8-month-old got into the vehicle and drove to work at Walmart, not knowing the child was in the vehicle. She parked the auto, inadvertently leaving the boy in the back seat, the station reported.

The mother called the grandmother, who checked the vehicle and discovered Jayce.

The baby was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m.by the Medical Examiner.

A portion of the parking lot was closed Wednesday night while police searched the vehicle at the scene.

The baby was already dead when police arrived at Walmart.
