Woman finds deadly surprise in grapes bought from Walmart
Jackson says after purchasing a bag of grapes from Walmart, she began rinsing them off in her sink when a black widow spider crawled out of the bag. “You want me to kill it?!'” said Ariel Jackson.

“I told them, ‘This isn’t really an emergency, but I have a black widow spider in my grapes and I don’t really know what to do”, Jackson said.
Grocers say it’s a good idea to closely inspect produce from the southern United States and Mexico, where the black widows are typically found.
Jackson’s brother and boyfriend eventually killed the spider, but the scary incident has taken a toll on Jackson, even to the point where a spider web caused her to jump out of her seat while telling her story to WXYZ-TV. “It had the red hourglass-shaped spot on its belly”. Ariel is just glad she found the spider before anyone got hurt. “I mean, it’s not every day you see a black widow spider”.
Death from a bite to a healthy person is rare, according to experts.
A Walmart spokesperson told CBS Detroit they are taking the matter seriously and are investigating the allegations. “Our stores have procedures in place to help ensure products meet our high expectations for fresh, quality food”, a statement read.
A Troy shopper brought home an unexpected guest in the fruit she purchased from a local grocery store.

Walmart did not immediately respond to ABC News’ requests for additional information or any updates to the investigation.
