China aims to be first to land probe on moon’s far side

But if the world survives the blood moons, it may only be a very brief temporary reprieve.

He stressed that the moon’s hidden side was attractive to scientists due to the absence of electromagnetic waves, making it an ideal site for low-frequency radio research.

According to NASA, in an update of its Sentry Risk Table on September 8, there are now no asteroids threatening the Earth.

Scientists state that a “blood moon” will occur on September 28 as the moon passes into the shadow of the earth cast by the Sun (a lunar eclipse) it appears copper red in colour. And, although NASA has dismissed claims that the asteroid could hit the Earth, some doomsday theorists have identified the rock as the “killer rock”. This is because there is a prevailing belief that it brings an apocalyptic omen.

Passages include Acts 2:20: “The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord”.

When promoting his 2013 book Four Blood Moons, Cornerstone Church founder John Hagee, of San Antonio, Texas, said that the tetrad was a signal being sent by God.

The moon is shown in its final eclipse over Los Angeles City, early April 15, 2014.

Some religious leaders believe that because this is the fourth consecutive lunar eclipse since April 2014, it is part of a “tertrad” – which foretells a meteorite destroying earth and the end of time.

Many doomsday believers see the coincidence of the Tetrad with the prophecies of asteroid impact catastrophe by Rev. Efrain Rodriguez, and predictions of stock market crashes based on the biblical Shemitah principle by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, as evidence that September, 2015, is a significant month in eschatological terms.

Not everyone is looking forward to seeing the Blood Moon, however.
