‘Boom’ Herron waived/injured by Colts
The waiver period for players as part of yesterday’s final roster cutdown ended today at noon, and the Indianapolis Colts were award two players: defensive tackle T.Y. Now on IR, the potential exists for the two sides to reach an injury settlement, which would allow Herron to sign with another organization. The loss of Art Jones, the Colts’ starting defensive tackle, to a season-ending ankle injury made looking for help elsewhere a necessity.

Myers is considered a player who might need some time to develop, but the Colts need some competition at guard behind starters Lance Louis and Todd Herremans. In 2014, he was named Second Team All-Ohio Valley Conference and played in the 2015 Senior Bowl after being the only offensive player on the team to start all 12 games.
Myers was a fifth round draft pick by the Ravens in this year’s draft out of Tennessee State, and he is a 6-5, 330 pound guard.
The Colts also waived ILB Amarlo Herrera, while picking up DT T.Y. McGill and G Robert Myers off waivers.
Herron, 5-10, 213 pounds, was signed by the Colts off the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad on October 9, 2013. He sounds like a guy who was a prime practice squad candidate for the Ravens had he not been claimed. Most starters were sidelined, and many key reserves were held out, too.
The personnel changes come a day after the team announced its 53-man roster, which saw WR Duron Carter and RB Zurlon Tipton waived, among others.
“We’re still evaluating everybody”, Pagano said, per Wells.

Running back remains an area of concern. Vick Ballard suffered a hamstring strain in Thursday’s game and rookie Josh Robinson is still awaiting clearance to return after a concussion.
