The Martian is easily one of the most anticipated science fiction films in recent memory and could be the next great film from director Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner).

The film follows main character Mark Watney, played by Damon-an astronaut who is left behind on Mars, after a space storm breaks out during a manned mission to the planet and he is presumed dead.
The clip shows us the very beginning of the disaster that leaves Matt Damon’s Mark Watney to fend for himself on the toxic Red Planet for several years.

In a new sneak peek from the film, we see Jessica Chastain as Mission Commander Lewis closely monitoring the storm before ordering her team to evacuate Mars. As he fends for his life, Watney must find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive while also drawing upon his ingenuity in order create more resources of food and water. Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of global scientists work tirelessly to bring “the Martian” home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible rescue mission. Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Community alum Donald Glover round out the cast. Directed by Ridley Scott, The Martian provides us a story filled with incredible bravery as Watney, NASA, his crew mates and ultimately the whole world come together to root for his heroic and safe return.
