World Premiere: Rolls-Royce Dawn Dophead
The official press release says that the Dawn is “the sexiest Rolls-Royce ever built”, and there are several reasons for that.

After a teaser campaign, the new auto – a convertible based on the Wraith, the “baby” in the company’s range but one of its top sellers – was unveiled with a video that saw chief executive Torsten Müller-Ötvös interviewed by model Jodie Kidd on the roof of the company’s factory.
In the design department, Rolls-Royce hasn’t just hacked the roof off. The windscreen is lower, further creases in the elongated bonnet have occurred and Spirit of Ecstasy flies in-between two headlights complete with a hint Bristol Blue colour. The new Rolls-Royce Dawn has broken cover officially today, a vast open-top luxury cruiser intended to cosset four adults who want both access to the sunshine but without sacrificing the near-silent ride the marque is known for. According to the manufacturer, it is the only modern four-place super-luxury convertible on the market -since the Drophead can seat 5-. The vehicle will make its global debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
But the roof is the real centrepiece, and is able to open and close fully in 22 seconds at speeds up to 50km/h.
The new model features a turbocharged, 6.6-liter (402 cubic inches) V-12 engine producing 563 horsepower, a capability of 155 miles per hour and a price tag, without options, of around $325,000.
Giles Taylor, Director of Design at Rolls-Royce says, “Dawn is a Rolls-Royce that feels completely at home on the Route Napoleon”.
It’s seen here in hero specification of Midnight Sapphire exterior and Mandarin leather interior.
It’s an oldie from the Rolls-Royce back catalogue, first appearing on the Silver Dawn, a glamorous drophead produced in tiny numbers in the early 1950s. With all this power, it’s no surprise that the Dawn can scoot from 0 to 100 km/h in around 4.9 seconds.

The Dawn is equipped with features such as adaptive LED headlights with anti-glare technology, head-up display, heat detection system, satellite aided transmission, rollover protection system and automatic cruise control among others.
