India had cited the Vienna convention to protest the arrest by the New York Police Department of Khobragade, then India’s deputy counsel general in New York, in December 2013 on charges of violating visa conditions and mistreating her children’s nanny.

The two women were rescued from the diplomat’s apartment in Caitriona Towers, Ambience Lagoon on Monday night.

The Saudi visa counsellor at the Saudi embassy and his assistant have been charged for trafficking two Nepali women (name withheld) from Baglung and Morang and forcing them into sexual activities for the past five months. They have also reported that the Saudi Arabian embassy in New Delhi has refuted the claims arguing that the allegations levelled against the diplomat were false.

The victims have alleged that they were first taken to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia where they were made to perform household chores and were raped there.

A Saudi embassy official additionally disapproved of the best way police was damaging an individual and a rustic’s fame on the idea of mere expenses made by a 3rd individual and stated it was violative of the rights of the diplomat and his family.

The ordeal of the two women came to light when another woman sold to the diplomat 10 days ago managed to escape and alerted Maiti Nepal India that works in the areas of prostitution, trafficking and child labour. They said that based on an advertisement by a placement agency, they took up the job in which a salary of Rs 30,000 was offered to them.

In both cases, the diplomats could not be prosecuted due to immunity, and a United Kingdom court ruled that the Indonesian women were not eligible for any compensation either. The NGO contacted the Nepal embassy and a letter was written to the Gurgaon police in this regard.
