Is Samsung Galaxy S6 Still Better Than the iPhone

There’s also a twist on Apple’s latest “if it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone” tagline, to which Samsung responds with “it’s not a phone, it’s a Galaxy”. This may sound quite smaller on paper, but in practice it’s no bad thing, as the Galaxy S6 only lasted 40 minutes more than the iPhone 6 in our continuous video playback test. Given the more energy-efficient processor in the iPhone 6S, we expect the battery life to increase a little on the new model, so expect the phones to have both have similar battery life.

The Galaxy S6 Edge is the clear victor on paper when it comes to screen quality with a larger 5.1in display, a higher QHD resolution and a higher pixel density.

Over the past few months, Samsung updated many of their high-end smartphones to Android 5.1. The Galaxy S6 that was launched with Android 5.0 is upgradeable to 5.1 while Z5 comes with Android 5.1 out of the box. However, Apple claims that its 12MP offering is among the best on the market, with faster autofocus than on the iPhone 6 and the same two-tone flash.

“All of these devices are about to receive a new software build, yet the Android version will stay at 5.1.1 even after you apply the update”. A combination of hardware and software, 3D Touch brings a new way of interacting with touch screen displays that can detect how hard you’re pressing on them up to 3 levels of pressure. We’re not sure if this has more to do with Apple’s new A9 processor, or if they’re using new a fingerprint sensor but it’s pretty damn impressive to say the least. That leaves much of the fight to price, and what carriers are willing to do to offset Apple’s new plan. It is said that the idea was to take flagships from some major OEMs and offer them with the stock Android software. Also, the phone can grab 4K video footage now, which is huge.

For instance, the Galaxy S6 packs a non-removable Li-Ion 2550mAh battery whereas the iPhone 6S is equipped with a non-removable Li-Po 1715mAh one.

That is duly to Apple implementing the new A9 chip, which besides the fact that it delivers incredible performance results, it also consumes less energy compared to last year’s A8 processor. The HTC One M9 is available for $649. So not only will you see what a press can do – you’ll feel it.

Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge is available with 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of storage but, as with the iPhone, doesn’t come with the option to expand. For those who want to go a step further and are willing to invest more, then you should consider the Samsung Galaxy S6.
