Rumor: Marvel considering Rebecca Ferguson to play Captain Marvel
The subject of who will eventually end up playing the titular superhero role Captain Marvel has been going on for quite some time, with numerous actresses reportedly being considered for the role, but the lead of Captain Marvel still hasn’t been found. According to the folks at Heroic Hollywood, the 31-year-old actress is now the studio’s top choice to star in their upcoming film, “Captain Marvel“.

Ferguson was quickly shortlisted for Gambit before she decided instead to work with another former Cruise associate, Emily Blunt, in thriller The Girl on the Train.
In the past, there were rumors that “Unbreakable” director Angelina Jolie was being courted to direct “Captain Marvel“, but it was said that her involvement would be a 2-in-1 deal since she has demanded that Theron be chosen as the lead star. Blunt told Cinema Blend.
Three new celebrity names are competing for the role of Carol Danvers in Marvel Studios upcoming phase 3 film, “Captain Marvel“.
HH says that no official offer has been extended to Ferguson but that Marvel wants to capitalize on her growing popularity and the success of “Mission: Impossible – Rouge Nation”.
Created by Roy Thomas and Gene Colan, the character of Carol Danvers made her first appearance in Marvel Super-Heroes #3 (March 1968). She began to gain fame for her role on BBC’s mini-series, “The White Queen“. One of which is the still undisputed, undefeated, female bantamweight champion of the octagon, Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey.

She could also show up in the first part of Infinity War – which would, in fact, make the most sense – but that film is also more than two years off, with a May 2018 release. In Gambit she would have starred opposite Channing Tatum. Now there is no need to be upset as Captain Marvel is not hitting theaters until 2018. Keep posted for more details in the future.
