Staff Predictions: Miami Dolphins at Washington Redskins
If Griffin isn’t the starting quarterback this season, then the Redskins can’t afford to guarantee him starters money in 2016. He’s increased his completion percentage, yardage and touchdown passes each year. Players and coaches are looking for Tannehill to make improvements. There’s good reason to believe that Washington can compete in Week 1 and beyond if Cousins is on top of his game.

Miami is looking to reach the playoffs this season after going 8-8 a year ago. In 14 career games, he has completed 59 percent of his passes while throwing for 3,030 yards with 18 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.
Darlington also reports that, according to multiple team sources, Griffin ran with the scout team defense as a safety during practices this week. The Dolphins were active on the free agent market once again, making one of the splashiest signings by securing defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh with a massive contract. Of course, these reports will go from being “fun” to “serious” sooner rather than later, especially if Cousins gets benched again.
“I think one of the best things that happened to Brandon Scherff in the preseason was getting his rear end pushed all the way into [Robert Griffin III’s] lap against the Detroit Lions“, Theismann said. “I’ve been talking about this game for a while with the family”.
“You’ve got to trust your eyes”, Philbin said.
“I’m not curious; I’m confident in the way that we’re going to respond”, Tannehill told ESPN.
TIGHT SQUEEZE: The Redskins are hurting at tight end. “I think he’s going to have a great future”. “We’re a little concerned, but I feel like Jordan is up for a lot of reps”.

Miami has been in the preseason conversation as a team that could unseat the New England Patriots as AFC East champions, but it’s up to quarterback Ryan Tannehill to take this team to the level they should be given the talent now surrounding him. The last five quarterbacks they face are projected to be Joe Flacco, Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Andrew Luck and Tom Brady. That’s because, if Cousins needed to come out of the game, the Redskins would want more time to evaluate whether Griffin would be put in harm’s way by entering the game potentially costing the team his 2016 salary if he were hurt. “The only time I’d ever see any highlights is when he was doing something that he shouldn’t be doing, whether it was stomping on an ankle or kicking somebody in the butt or something like that. I know where everybody has us ranked”, Gruden said. Alfred Morris will “get the bulk of the carries”, but McVay did admit that what Matt Jones has shown is “encouraging and exciting” and will result in the team wanting “to find a way to get him some touches”.
