Details on the upcoming Bugatti Chiron are slim but we’ve learned that VW Group chairman Martin Winterkorn intends to make a top-tier gas-electric hybrid performance model that promises to embarrass the Porsche 918 Spyder, LaFerrari, and the McLaren P1.

“With our extreme speed on the long straights”, Bugatti explains, “we could make up for any disadvantages on the bends, and would then be as quick in the virtual world as the fastest real-life LMP1 race vehicle, which, unlike us in the video game, naturally needs to comply with all FIA and ACO regulations”. Bugatti was keen to emphasize its motorsports history with its concept, with the design said to have been inspired by the marque’s victorious Le Mans racers of the 1930s, namely the Bugatti Type 57 Tank.
