Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept: The Future Of Bugatti Looks Terrifyingly

Details on the upcoming Bugatti Chiron are slim but we’ve learned that VW Group chairman Martin Winterkorn intends to make a top-tier gas-electric hybrid performance model that promises to embarrass the Porsche 918 Spyder, LaFerrari, and the McLaren P1.

“With our extreme speed on the long straights”, Bugatti explains, “we could make up for any disadvantages on the bends, and would then be as quick in the virtual world as the fastest real-life LMP1 race vehicle, which, unlike us in the video game, naturally needs to comply with all FIA and ACO regulations”. Called the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo, the concept represents the “future potential of Hyundai N”, the company said in a statement.

“Bugatti will remain clearly positioned in the future as a brand with a strong profile”.

Bugatti’s unveiling of the design language of the Veyron supercar comes a few days ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show which is scheduled to begin on September 17.

That wing is something else, too, packed with aero adjustments and studded in the center with one of the Bugatti’s three external cameras.

“Having met the team at Bugatti, I can honestly say that the way they challenge limits, the way they try to push beyond boundaries, feels so similar to the way Gran Turismo attempts to go the extra mile in everything it does”, says Kazunori Yamauchi, Senior Vice President of Sony Computer Entertainment and President of Polyphony Digital. He asked design studios from all across the globe to come up with a auto that best embodies the spirit of the game, and which fans would be able to download as a drivable vehicle in the latest iteration of the game, Gran Turismo 6.

The appeal of Gran Turismo though is that it opens up the Bugatti brand to millions of people worldwide. The mid-engine concept, with a 2.0-liter 300ps engine, is undergoing further developments to apply high-performance technology to Hyundai Motor cars in many exciting ways.

The virtual racer was developed with the Bugatti engineers in order to maintain a semblance of real functionality and leave open the possibility of creation in the real world.

Bugatti was keen to emphasize its motorsports history with its concept, with the design said to have been inspired by the marque’s victorious Le Mans racers of the 1930s, namely the Bugatti Type 57 Tank.
