A local produce importer is facing multiple lawsuits after their cucumbers were found to be the source of a deadly Salmonella outbreak.

The CDC says about 1.2 million people are sickened by salmonella on an annual basis in the United States, with about 450 cases proving fatal each year. All customers who may have received this product are being contacted. “Unfortunately Mildred paid the ultimate price”. “She will be missed”.

To assist victims of the outbreak, Simon’s law firm has established a salmonella claim center which can be reached toll-free at 1-888-335-4901.

The Food and Drug Administration is working with Andrew & Williamson officials, as well as state and county health officials across the country, to determine the scope and cause of the contamination. Red Lobster also served the cucumbers in salads.

“Plaintiffs resumed their RV vacation and were camping when Lori began to feel sick on or about August 4, 2015”, the suit says. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.

A&W said it is fully cooperating with health officials to ensure it is doing everything possible to learn if it is responsible and how it could have happened.

Recalled cucumbers were distributed in the states of Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah. Testing done at the hospital revealed Hendricks had been suffering from a strain of Salmonella linked to the tainted cucumbers.

Grown and packed by Rancho Don Juanito in Mexico, the cucumbers were distributed between August 1 and September 3.
