David Feherty Signs With NBC Sports, Golf Channel
The Irishman-turned-American will also be “featured” during coverage of the Ryder Cup, Olympics and some PGA of America and European Tour events.

Golf Channel wants to collaborate with Feherty on his one-man stage show. But Feherty told The Hollywood Reporter he’s looking beyond golf too.
“I’m nervous about this”, said the 57-year-old Irishman on a teleconference Wednesday. I’d fail with all the anti-psychotic drugs I have to take. “[But] in all seriousness, I’d love to stretch myself a little bit and try to bring my attitude or twisted look at things to some other sports”. “We plan on opening up that brain and letting some of the ideas come out”.
Feherty will have a similar role as he did with CBS, serving as a walking and tower analyst.
“I’m really looking forward to the next step in my career”, Feherty told Golf Channel.
Golf returns to the Olympics for the first time since 1904 next year.
“But I’ll miss a lot of people who have had my back for almost 20 years”. [Nos.] 17 and 18 are two of the finest finishing holes on TV.
NBC golf producer Tommy Roy sounded like a fan about Feherty joining his broadcast crew.

“Now I have this opportunity with the Olympics, the Ryder Cup and a different set of players. David and Johnny will be some pretty damn good television”. Feherty already works at the NBC-owned cable network Golf Channel. Feherty also will call golf’s original championship, once NBC Sports becomes the home of The Open Championship in 2017. “That appeals to me”, he said.
