Third baseman David Wright laced a tie-breaking ground-rule RBI double with two outs in the seventh inning as the New York Mets produced another comeback win by beating the Miami Marlins 4-3 at Citi Field on Monday.

With their season-high eighth straight win, the Mets increased their lead in the National League East to 10 games while reducing the magic number for clinching the division to 10.
“It’s just nice to be in a lineup where it’s not just one or two or three guys that you have to rely on to get the job done (and) if they don’t, it’s almost like a punch in the gut”, Wright said. “September baseball. Koehler (10-13) allowed one run on five hits and four walks while striking out four for the Marlins (62-83), who are 9-4 this month, including 3-2 against the first-place Mets. The rookie is 3-0 on the road with a 0.87 ERA but hasn’t faced the Mets yet.
