Louisiana Ranked One of the Least Happy States in America

WalletHub took a look at comprehensive data and ranked the USA from the happiest to the least happy states – and, despite Lafayette being named the happiest city in the U.S.in 2014, Louisiana is fairly low on the list. Beyond that, money makes little difference in a person’s overall happiness.

Washington is among the happiest states in America, according to a new report, but that happiness apparently doesn’t cross the border into Oregon. It was followed by Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee. According to the study, Connecticut residents live a long time on average and have the third highest life expectancy rate in the county.

They looked at things like income growth, safety, divorce rate and long-term unemployment.

– West Virginia’s heart attack rate is three times as high as Utah’s. So where does The Bayou State rank?

Utah’s volunteerism rate is three times as high as Louisiana’s.

However, the state’s “emotional and physical well-being” rank was 10.
