His strength is using his hands to disengage from blockers and he has the speed and quickness to track down ball carriers all over the field. Last year, Godwin was second in the “Z” slot behind DaeSean Hamilton, but has worked his way to the top of the “X” slot on this year’s depth chart. The Lions rank 13th in the conference after averaging 138.5 rushing yards in the first two games this season.
Martin grew up in Harrisburg, which could considered the heart of Penn State country. He came in as a running back.

Before Saquon got here he used to hurdle people all the time in high school, and he said ‘I’m not going to do that in college.’ I said that doesn’t make sense because in high school it’s illegal to hurdle people and it’s legal in college. Palmer played left tackle in the season opener against Temple and filled in with Nelson absent in the second half last week.
