Longer school lunches mean more to eat for kids
‘Criminals are getting better food than we are, ‘ Tamera Perry, a senior student at Friendly High School in Fort Washington, told FOX 5.

They said they want people to understand the pictures that hit Twitter on Monday were in response to the original tweet and the food did not come from their schools.
“I’ve gotten lunch where my mandarin orange has mold on it”, said Perry. “It was just disgusting”.
First up: Researchers from the University of Arkansas have identified a low-priced way to improve the diets and health of public school youngsters, by spending just a little extra money to give them free fruits and vegetables-as snacks, not during the lunch hour.
The Prince George’s County Public School System rejects a student’s allegations that students are being served food that is moldy, unhealthy and disgusting. Our milk has been expired. A delivery man rolled out numerous boxes of brand new food items right into the school’s cafeteria.
Researchers reportedly found that students that were strapped for time went straight to eating fruit because they were “trying to rush through the lunch line to maximize their amount of time to eat”.
Johnson says there’s a reason the pizza looked different. “It’s a vegetarian pizza in which mashed kidney beans and cheese are part of the protein source”, Johnson says. There were pictures of uncooked hamburgers, hollow chicken nuggets and spotty food.
The fact is some moms depend on school lunch because they’re scraping by financially, while others depend on school lunch because they’re busy. They said they know this because some of the trays, food items and milk brands aren’t stocked here. “Yes, all of those pictures are not from Prince George’s County Public Schools”. About 18 percent of the nation’s 24.7 million elementary school-aged children are obese, she notes, adding that the lifetime obesity-related medical cost for each obese child is $19,000, or $83 billion in “obesity-related healthcare costs over the lifetime for our current generation of children”.

But now we do have some hard data on what it means to hustle school kids through the chow line as if they were stoners eager to wolf down a late-night snack from Taco Bell. When they’re in and out, they make snap decisions on food they may not like (which changes from day to day) only to become hungry later on in class.
