Zoe Ball is being lined up to co-present Top Gear, after reportedly impressing producers during screen tests.
“Zoe looks like a certainty after the screen tests”, the newspaper quoted its source as saying.
“She was brilliant down on the race track and she’s enthusiastic about cars”, the source went on.
Chris also discussed the show on his Radio 2 show, telling listeners that Zoe had called him to say she wishes she were in the running and he revealed the show is working to a time frame – ‘it’s May, it’s all hands on deck!’
The mum of two is a regular face on the BBC, and if she gets the gig, will be adding to her long history with the company, which includes Live & Kicking, Top Of The Pops, and Strictly Come Dancing’s It Takes Two.
Motorbike racer Guy Martin, actor Philip Glenister and presenter Dermot O’Leary have all been tipped as a third presenter.
Despite being a massive petrol-head and presenting a similar style show on Channel 5, the former model recently told the Telegraph: “I made the decision very recently”, said the 36-year-old.
When asked if Zoe could be fronting the all-new line-up, Jodie said: “Do you know what, it could be”.

Evans has already signed a three-year deal to lead the new line-up for the auto enthusiasts’ show after former presenter Jeremy Clarkson was sacked for punching producer Oisin Tymon in a row over food in March.
