Thiruvananthapuram: Four Indians, suspected to have links to the terrorist organisation Islamic State, have been deported from the United Arab Emirates and have been detained by Indian authorities, police sources said today.

Apart from these two, two other natives of Kozhikode were also detained at the Karipur airport on Tuesday.
None of them have any “serious” links with the IS but agencies are closely watching Kerala as they fear that it could be a fertile land for recruiters. The lads – detained on suspicion of sending out propaganda materials and posting it on their social media accounts – are being interrogated by officers of the Nationwide Investigation Company, Analysis and Evaluation Wing, state police intelligence and immigration division, , an area newspaper, reported. They were released after questioning that continued past noon.
An alleged ISIS member despatched messages to the person from a overseas cellular quantity, urging him to hitch the group, police reportedly stated. The official said it was “too early” to discuss leads from the questioning. However The Times of India quoted an intelligence official as saying, “Nothing serious has been found against the detained Indians deported so far, though the UAE, as part its policy to strictly deal with those trying to reach out to IS, has decided not to let them live on its soil.” He later approached the police with the complaint.
