A bench of Justices B D Ahmed and Sanjeev Sachdeva agreed to hear Bharti’s plea after his counsel, senior advocate Dayan Krishnan, informed the court that the matter is urgent and there is every chance of his arrest. Lipika had also given a complaint to police in this regard.
Bharti’s wife Lipika Mitra, who was present in court, said she was “not interested in any reconciliation” with him as he had mistreated and abused her when they were together. Sources told PTI that the party was upset with Bharti as it is unable to contact him.
On Bharti having acquired interim aid from Delhi excessive courtroom which has restrained Delhi Police from arresting him till Thursday, Mitra stated, “I assume it is good for Bharti”. She also claimed that Bharti beat and tortured her and once even tried to kill her.
As his bail plea was opposed by police, the court observed that Bharti did not mend his ways and continued to commit cruelty against his wife. Earlier, the cops raided several places in Agra following the NBW issued against him.
The dog named “Don” has been mentioned in the FIR lodged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including attempt to murder, and has become crucial to the investigation in the domestic violence case.
While the domestic violence case against him is serious enough, apparently the Delhi police are considering all angles.
“When they can take me so seriously, why can’t I take myself with same seriousness and take all those proactive steps to ensure I don’t have to go to jail”, the Labrador said from a hideout in Bollywood actor Sunny Deol’s residential society.
