An emergency meeting was held, called by the town’s officials, leading to Halstead’s immediate retirement with 60 days severance pay.

Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman shared his opinions on the Black Lives Matter movement Tuesday, with a seemingly impromptu media address that was emotional, personal and poignant. Sherman said he had his best friend getting killed, “and it was two 35-year-old black men”.
He also referred to Michael Brown as a “thug” in his letter and said the “hands up don’t shoot” scenario was a lie. It is out of the mouths of cheap thugs like you that are hurting our young and taking away the chances they have to make themselves a productive part of society.
Town Manager Larry Bergman ordered Halstead’s leave after determining that his expression overstepped his position as a public servant.
“He put that information out, that was intended for his friends and colleagues and peers, but it was a public statement and there are people that were offended”, Bergman said.
Do you think the Surf City Mayor was right in forcing Police Chief Mike Halstead into retirement following his Black Lives Matter Facebook rant? I don’t think it’s any time’s a time to call out for an all-out war against police or any race of people. “How he felt when this knife went in his back in the closed-door, secret meeting, we are all feeling that, too”. So I think the ignorance should stop. Brandy Cuff said she started a Facebook page, “Support Police Chief Halstead”.
Military police officer Andrew Vann said he agrees with Halstead’s overall message. Farrakhan who should be charged with solicitation for murder, lord knows a white man would be arrested for the same actions of idiot Farakhan.
“I’m pretty disappointed that it was not reported by the actual business itself and it’s unfortunate to have an officer uncover that”, Austin Police Association President Ken Casady told KXAN. I do not judge anyone by the color of their skin, but by there actions. I think the police officers we have right now -you know, some of it is being brought to light, because of video cameras, everybody has a camera phone. Who am I to say anything? When a white person is killed by a black officer you hear nothing. I have been a Police Officer for 35 years.
“Chief was able to stop by the peaceful protest we had this morning and it was heartbreaking – there were some tears”, Dorothy Royal said.
President Barack Obama proceeded to speak out in support of James and athletes who have made an effort to discuss divisive social issues publicly.
“I do not apologize for what I said in my post and I am truly scared and concerned for law enforcement in this country”. There would be murders, rapes, robberies, you name it.
On the heels of the discovery that the killer of Kentucky State Trooper Joseph Ponder on Sunday, Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks, was an avid Black Lives Matter supporter, another disturbing incident occurred, this time in Austin, Texas.
