With Move to iOS installed on an Android smartphone or tablet, the Move to iOS service is able to transfer nearly all important data from the Android device to the new iOS device, including contacts, message history, photos and videos, web bookmarks, mail account information, calendars, wallpapers, DRM-free songs, and books. Attackers could activate this restricted functionality and take full control of the apps either to profit from abusing them directly, or to launch attacks on other apps. For instance, only 1 in 10 of the Android applications reviewed encrypted data at rest, while not one of the iOS travel apps had that feature.
