The last “King of Fighters” game with 3D graphics was 2005’s “King of Fighters: Maximum Impact” for PlayStation 2. The game was released for Taito Type X and PS2. The game will be the seventeenth installment in the King of Fighter Series. The games also feature cameos and playable characters from lesser-known SNK arcade games like Psycho Soldier and Ikari Warriors, establishing crossover potential that rival developer Capcom later explored in its Marvel vs. Capcom series. The new 3D character models are interesting, though Event Hubs stated that this probably isn’t the final product yet and the actual models could look different as development of the game continues.
