At least 500 weapons found in each room of Florida woman’s home

A Hernando County home is being called a “house of horrors”.

Law-enforcement officials in a Florida city discovered an unsettling scene early Wednesday morning after arresting a woman who attacked a deputy, finding thousands of bladed weapons such as swords, knives and axes inside her mobile home.

Deputies said they saw Dykema looking out of a broken window at them when they arrived.

When she refused to come out, deputies went inside and that’s when Dykema lunged at Sgt.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies went to Nickole Dykema’s Brooksville home to assist probation and parole officers who were trying to issue felony arrest warrants at around 10 p.m.

The newspaper reports Dykema fled into a room filled with about 500 bladed weapons.

A deputy shot a bean bag at Dykema but it had no effect, deputies said. Hernando County Sheriff’s Office It took police nearly a day to clear all the weapons from the home. Deputies ordered her to turn around so they could make sure she didn’t have any weapons behind her back, but it appeared as if she was retreating back into her residence. Neither Dykema nor any deputy was injured. That’s when Corporal Stephen Miller deployed his Taser and Dykema fell to the ground. “It amazes me that these deputies were able to take her into custody without anyone being injured”, Sheriff Al Nienhuis told WFLA. When she eventually came out, deputies used a stun gun on her and quickly took her into custody. “It shows the level of their restraint and professionalism under very difficult and dangerous conditions”, he said.

‘I appreciate their willingness to deal with these very volatile situations.

She faces charges of assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest without violence, property damage/criminal mischief and three counts of violation of probation. “I know the public appreciates them as well”.
