Three-year-old girl dies of dengue in Delhi, death toll rises to 15
Amid spurt in dengue cases, Delhi government today issued notice to commissioners of all three civic bodies directing them to mandatorily apprise it on a daily basis about the steps being taken to prevent the spread of the disease.

The High Court also sought responses from the NDMC and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on the steps being taken for the prevention of dengue.
“The present BJP government at the Centre, the Delhi government and the (Delhi) Municipal Corporation have failed to fight dengue”, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad told reporters in Srinagar.
The petitioner in the case had questioned why the two boys who died were turned away by private hospitals despite beds for economically weaker sections lying vacant. “The act of the hospital authorities clearly falls under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of Indian Penal Code”, the petition said.
“Delhi Government has kept only 4.8 percent of the total health budget for dengue and malaria”.
