New tropical depression forms in central Atlantic, currently posing no threat
“This system has steadily become better organized”, AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist and Hurricane Expert Dan Kottlowski said, referring to the newly formed depression.

Further out in the Atlantic – as in much closer to Africa than the United States there are a couple of tropical waves that have a very good chance of becoming tropical storms or hurricanes. The combination of land interaction with the Mexican Coast and strong upper level winds positioned over the Gulf should limit any significant development. At 11 a.m. Wednesday, it was 1,215 miles east of the eastern Caribbean islands, lumbering north at 8 mph.
The second system – 95L – is a broad area of low pressure located about 350 miles southwest of the Cape Verde Island.
Invest 95 is hot on the heels of Tropical Depression Nine and could become a depression in the next couple days.
“The jet stream will force 93L to track northwestward over the open waters of the Atlantic through the end of the week”, an AccuWeather forecast said this morning.
The area of disturbed weather near Florida contains some of the leftover moisture from Grace.

The NHC doesn’t expect the system to increase in strength over the next 48 hours.
