Suburban High School Football Field Accidentally Sprayed With Weed Killer
According to the Chicago Tribune, the maintenance company that cares for Greg True Field in Elgin, Ill., mistakenly put down weed killer rather than fertilizer nearly two weeks ago.

Photos of the pitch at St Edward High School show three quarters of the grass turned an ugly, patch brown, and the residual chemicals on the field are becoming a cause for concern.
No, this is not Soldier Field, and the Chicago Park District had nothing to do with it.
Workers had apparently grabbed the wrong bottle when mixing chemicals to spread on the field at St. Edward’s High School in Elgin, Illinois.
The team has to decide where to play its home games.
Players are expected to test the field by practicing on it, and a decision is expected by Thursday on whether home games will be relocated.

White noted that other local schools have offered the use of their fields to finish out the season. However, White said he doesn’t believe replacing the turf is in the school’s budget.
