When asked when he cut off ties, he said, “Yeah, after the Q-Tip thing”, referring to when rapper Q-Tip sent tons of tweets to Iggy, schooling her on hip hop culture.
Azalea is still signed to T.I. publishing company and is rumored to have her sophomore album on the way.
After first acknowledging that he’s happy that she’s happy and in love and engaged with her fiancé Nick Young, he said that her disrespect of a hip-hop legend and her missteps in taking all of her backlash made him have to step away. “I just feel “they” [Iggy’s team] needed some time to adjust”. Although there doesn’t appear to be bad blood, T.I. does acknowledge her hype has taken “a bit of a rest stop” and cites numerous instances that led to a wedge between them. “It’s very difficult to be the new kid and to be the butt of the jokes and the direction of all the negativity”.

We’re gonna get outta here right now, though. I’m going to block the bullets, you go. Don’t stand around and tote while I’m blocking bullets. That’s just how I am.

Still, he does come to the 25-year-old “Fancy” rapper’s defense, also noting her talent and charisma.
