However this company has caught the attention of the online sales giant Amazon.com Inc.

The endorsement of Shopify as a preferred migration provider could mean hundreds of new businesses will move to adopt Shopify technology.
Shopify said it would provide customers with tools and services to expand their online business and integrate Amazon offerings such as Login and Pay with Amazon, Fulfillment by Amazon and Selling on Amazon.
While not available just yet, the Amazon Sales Channel will soon be available to Shopify merchants, at which point they’ll be able to list and sell products on Amazon directly from Shopify.
“In a few steps, merchants can transfer their customer and product data – with zero downtime or service interruptions – and begin taking advantage of an extended 30-day free trial”, Shopify says in an announcement. This gives consumers the ability to login and pay using their Amazon credentials.
Both Amazon and Shopify are leaders in ecommerce so it’s a natural fit that we would enable our retailers to seamlessly run their businesses across either platform.
And it will offer merchants a way of shipping directly from Amazon warehouses.
When I spoke to Kanwar in June about buy buttons, he said Shopify’s Facebook store solution is one of the most widely used on the social network, a feat he credits with the simplicity of its platform and the sheer size of its merchant base.
For some background: Shopify is a leading cloud-based, multichannel commerce platform designed for small and medium-sized businesses.
Shopify shares have increased 70 percent to $28.91 since going public in May. The stock already had risen more than 62% over the past 12 months before today’s surge.

Some merchants will be asking why this update means so much, when a Facebook Store app already exists for Shopify users. The consensus price target is $648.92.
