PBS’ ‘Downton Abbey’ Final Season Trailer

Michelle Dockery has spent the last few weeks at Highclere Castle filming the final series of Downton Abbey. And for some it’s business as usual, with butler Mr. Carter (Charles Carson) telling Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville), “We must run this place as it should be run”.

Maggie Smith’s well-loved character, the Dowager Countess, is also featured as she does what she does best: exchanging strong opinions with constant rival, Isobel Crawley (Penelope Wilton). “I want to protect the patients at the expense of my power”.

Lady Carnarvon said having the cast and crew in the castle had been “an amazing journey”.

In a post in Instagram, the actress thanked everyone who has been a part of the production of “Downton Abbey“, gushing about her gratefulness for the experience she had for six years. “You do not think you should start calling me Elsie?” asked Mrs. Hughes.

“I hope people will be pleased – I was delighted with the last season, I think it’s really good”.

He also shared how he felt the need to end the series despite its worldwide success. “But it seems the right time to go while we’re still firing”, the screenwriter said.

Gareth Neame, executive producer for the period drama, has since explained his decision to end his series that has been on air since 2010.

A trailer released on Monday revealed that Edith, played by Laura Carmichael, could possibly leave for London to take charge of the late Greg Wilson’s publishing house that was willed to her, US Weekly revealed.
