‘Law & Order’ Is About to Make Reality TV Even Worse

With the show’s 25th anniversary just behind it, NBC has announced that Wolf has brought yet another iteration to the network – this time in the form of a live, interactive reality TV show called Law and Order: You the Jury. The audience will serve as the jury, and will be able to vote throughout the trial on the character of witnesses and how persuasive the evidence is. He sold the series – without the live episode element – to the network in May.

NBC originally bought the project – sans the life part – in early May as You The Jury.

Law & Order“, the longest running scripted drama in the history of television (tied with “Gunsmoke”) is now spawning a reality series.

Wolf and NBC previously teamed for the 2002 docu-reality series Crime & Punishment, which was an unofficial spinoff from the Law & Order franchise. His Cold Justice, which is in the thick of its third season on TNT, follows a prosecutor and crime scene investigator who reopen and investigate unsolved cases with the consent of the officials. You also missed NPH and Reese Witherspoon climbing a tower 15 stories up in the air, which was both terrifying and exhilarating, even from the comfort of our couch at home. In the meantime, viewers can get their Law & Order fix when SVU returns on September 23.
