Chelsea’s shock keeper swoop, Mourinho revelation, Depay’s Psv — Man Utd News

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly said his team is not interested in signing Manchester United keeper Victor Valdes despite Thibaut Courtois injury.

Valdes would be particularly excited about the move if it comes to fruition.

His first-team prospects looked bleak to say the least after Van Gaal had indicated that Valdes would not play for him again and for “not buying into his philosophy”.

He has now fallen behind David De Gea, Sergio Romero and Sam Johnstone in the pecking order at the club and is expected to leave sooner rather than later. Since news broke last week over Courtois injuring his knee, the Blues are looking very “blue” at the goalkeeper spot.

With just Asmir Begovic available to the west London side, the club is eligible to make an emergency loan signing if they need to, yet Mourinho has faith in youngster Jamal Blackman to be the backup goalie.

Valdes has been linked in the Spanish press, but he would have to negotiate his release from Old Trafford for a move to happen before the January transfer window opens.

A move to the Middle East had been seen as a possibility for Valdes but it has now been revealed that Chelsea are considering a shock swoop for the goalkeeper. Would Manchester United really discuss the cancellation of his deal if it means helping out a top-four fival?
